“Powerhouse soloists joining forces” The concert will feature music by Mozart and Debussy for piano four-hands, with the two pianists performing on a single piano. In addition, the concert includes music by Franz Liszt, with Mr. Wang playing the Reminiscences de Norma, a virtuosic arrangement of themes from the Bellini opera, and Mr. Cano Smit playing two Transcendental Etudes.
The Spanish/Dutch pianist Albert Cano Smit was the First Prize winner at the 2017 Walter W. Naumburg Piano Competition. He holds a Master of Music and Artist Diploma from The Juilliard School and has performed as a solo recitalist as well as with chamber music ensembles around the US and Europe. He released his debut solo recording of J. S. Bach’s Art of the Fugue this year.
Zhu Wang has won numerous piano competitions and has performed as a soloist and chamber musician around the US, Europe, and Asia. Mr. Wang received a Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School, Artist Diploma from the Curtis Institute of Music, and is currently pursuing his Masters from The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Emanuel Ax and Robert McDonald.
